IBM is introducing new power and storage systems in a move aimed at expanding its big data and cloud computing products portfolio.
The company built the systems with the goal of helping businesses derive insights from big data insights and consolidating data in a cloud environment, IBM said Tuesday.
“With these new systems, IBM is forging an aggressive expansion of its power and storage systems business into SMB and growth markets,” said Rod Adkins, senior vice president of IBM’s systems and technology group.
IBM is providing the systems to small businesses to help them use big data and private or hybrid cloud platforms.
Ingram Micro and TechData will resell IBM’s entire portfolio of Power Systems, PureSystems, and Storage Systems to small- and medium-sized businesses and large enterprises.
