Oracle has acquired Red Hat partner Nimbula as Oracle aims to integrate Nimbula’s enterprise-ready cloud software into its offerings.
Details of the deal were not disclosed and the two sides expect to finalize the sale by the end of June, the Triangle Business Journal reported Wednesday.
“Nimbula’s product is complementary to Oracle, and is expected to be integrated with Oracle’s cloud offerings,” Oracle said, according to the report.
Oracle reported software revenues of $26 billion last year, Lauren K. Ohnesorge writes.
Nimbula, founded by Amazon EC2 developers Chris Pinkham and Willem van Biljon, partnered with Red Hat to equip customers with a cloud-based operating system supporting information technology initiatives.
