Cheek http://www.thenewnewinternet.com/?p=3401 In their prepared testimony before the House Armed Services Committee, Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz outlined their budgetary priorities for cyberspace, including $104 million to support the Air Force’s involvement in Cyber Command, which will likely be headquartered at Fort Meade, MD.

The Air Force is tasked with attaining ‘cyber superiority.’ As such, their FY11 budget request reflects the growing priority assigned to cyber capabilities. The request includes “$31M for expanded rapid cyber acquisition capabilities to keep pace with dynamic adversaries and fast-paced advances in technology.

In addition to the $104 million for Cyber Command, Donley and Gen Schwartz also requested an additional $15 million along with additional personnel within the next five years to increase law enforcement and investigative capabilities in cyberspace.
