Cyber Crooks Look Best in Handcuffs

Police in Romania have arrested 70suspected cyber criminals who are thought to be members of criminal gangs running scams using compromised eBay accounts. The login credentials were allegedly obtained in a series of phishing scams and the compromised accounts were used to “sell” non-existent luxury items.

Fake eBay Email Used for Cyber Crime

Twitter and Facebook have each been targeted with a series of fake scams targeting users and now eBay has joined the list. The mail contains the subject line “eBay Procedural Warning – Security Alert” and warns the user that they have “detected security issues on behalf of your account.”

Online Scam Exploits Soldiers

A series of false ads on Craigslist and Ebay offering to sell vehicles claim to be from National Guard soldiers set to ship out to Afghanistan.
