Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, chief of military intelligence with the IDF, said at the Institute for National Security Studies that “Using computer networks for espionage is as important to warfare today as the advent of air support was to warfare in the 20th century.”

Yadlin said IDF was currently working toward setting up itsown cyber capability, citing the example of the United States and Britain setting up cyber war commands.

“The cyber-warfare field fits well with Israel’s defense doctrine,” he said.

The majority of Israeli intelligence agencies already possess cyber teams and Israel has used cyber attacks in the past against Hamas.
